When these sweet clients reached out to me saying that they were moving to MN with zero furniture in under a month, I knew I had my work cut out for me! This fairly new-build was beautiful to begin with and really didn’t need much, aside from a few light fixture swap-outs and some fresh paint. The clients knew they wanted great quality furniture(coming from NC, the furniture capital of the US!), a calming aesthetic, and comfortable pieces. They were also very done with with the tradtitional, southern styles that they’ve been living with for the past 15+ years. Other than that, they really gave me free-reign to make their house into their home!
I was inspired by the existing rustic beams and had it in my head to bring the outside elements in. The earthiness of the nesting coffee table, muted green and blue palette, rich leather chairs, and abundance of plants all worked together beautifully to help achive the look I was going for. Neutral does not have to be boring– you just have to create interest with different tones, textures, materials, and elements.
